Number of appeals to Turkish Employment Agency decreases

The number of applications to the employment service decreased by 25,900 people in February 2018, as compared to the same month in 2017, according to a report of the Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR).

The report says that 331,464 people appealed to ISKUR in February 2018.

The number of employed citizens was 83,449 people in February 2018, which is 16.6 percent more as compared to the same month in 2017.

The number of employed men was 66 percent, and women – 34 percent.

According to ISKUR, the number of unemployed people stood at 2.4 million in Turkey.

During the period, the number of unemployed men was 51 percent, and women – 49 percent, the report says.

In January 2018, 362,726 Turkish citizens appealed to ISKUR, and 79,422 people among them were provided with work.
