Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan to open trading houses

Foreign trade ministries of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan signed an agreement on the mutual creation of trading houses, the press service of the Foreign Trade Ministry of Uzbekistan stated on April 26.

According to the information, the agreement was achieved during the official visit of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Tashkent.

“Opening of trading houses will help us to further increase the volume of trade and create conditions for establishing contacts between the business circles of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan,” Uzbek Foreign Trade Minister Jamshid Khodzhaev said.

Trading houses will become an advertising platform for local customers, will allow carrying out retail and small wholesale trade, conducting marketing research, and will provide consulting services.

Agreements worth $250 million were signed during the National Exhibition of Turkmenistan and the business forum that took place in Tashkent on April 23-24.

The parties reached prospective agreements on expanding cooperation in the oil and gas, transport, communications, agriculture and tourism, industrial production and textile industries.
