Baku, Azerbaijan, June 7
By Ilkin Shafiyev – Trend:
Gazakh Cement Plant of Azerbaijan's Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation OJSC plans to increase production by almost a third, a source in the corporation told Trend June 7.
“Major part of the cement plant’s products comes to the domestic market, and is exported to Georgia,” the source said. “We aim to expand the sales. In this regard, an investment plan has been drawn up jointly with a German company. The project provides for increasing the plant’s production capacity from one million to 1.3 million tons of products per year.”
The source also said that the Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation OJSC intends to start exporting plastic windows and doors to Georgia and Russia. The plastic windows and doors will be produced by Accopen company, which is a part of the corporation, the source noted.
“At the moment, we need to reduce dependence on the import of raw materials for the manufacture of this product,” the source added. “We are waiting for SOCAR Polymer plant to start operating. When this happens, we will be able to get 40-50 percent of raw materials from the domestic market. In general, we import raw materials from Turkey and Iran.”
The Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation OJSC was established in 2005.
The company works on major infrastructure construction projects in Azerbaijan and foreign countries.
