Uzbekistan intends to cooperate with Kazakhstan in IT sphere, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Erik Utembayev said at the meeting with the Minister of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan, Kazakh media outlets reported.
The sides discussed issues of strengthening cooperation in the spheres of high technologies, software and training specialists, and also agreed to start creating joint IT parks in near future.
“The program on implementation of innovative methods in Uzbekistan’s IT sector will allow the two countries to create a single large information platform for the work of government agencies and the business community”, Utembayev said.
In early June 2018, Uzbekistan agreed with Kazakhstan on the border demarcation process. Participants of the five-day talks of government delegations reviewed the results of field surveys and signed a protocol emphasizing the importance of finalizing the legal formalization of the Uzbek-Kazakh border. Negotiations on this topic have continued since 2003.
