The delegation of Turkmenistan held talks in China on issues of Turkmen cotton and its processing products, said the message from the Turkmen government.
The prospects of investment exchange, as well as increasing the quota of the PRC for export of cotton products from Turkmenistan, including cotton linters, were discussed.
The delegation included the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Turkmenistan Akmurad Iylkybaev and the Director of the local individual "Kuwwatly ýollar" enterprise Shikhmurad Ovezov.
The trip was organized with the assistance of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in China.
During the meetings,the head of the Department for Eurasian Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce of China Ma Chi, stressed that China welcomes the export of agricultural products of Turkmenistan and will support investment of Chinese companies in the agricultural industry of Turkmenistan.
Talks were also held with the Chairman of the China International Private Chamber Wang Yangguo, which is engaged in supporting domestic exporters and attracting foreign investment in the Chinese economy.
Negotiations were also held with the leadership of the largest companies in China - China textile corporation Limited, China National Cotton Group Corporation and China National Cotton Exchange.
The delegation of Turkmenistan briefed representatives of the Chinese business community with the production and export potential of the agrarian sector of the economy, investment projects in the sphere of agricultural production, as well as the country's logistical capabilities,the source said.
Chinese companies expressed their desire to participate in investment projects in the agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan. During the meeting, an agreement was reached on joint work to introduce high technologies into agricultural production.
This year in Turkmenistan, 545,000 hectares of land have been allocated for cotton. In total, it is planned to collect 1 million 50 thousand tons of cotton, including 207,000 tons in the Akhal province, 230,000 tons in the Dashoguz region, 300,000 tons in the Lebap region, and 313,000 tons in the Mary region.
The campaign involved more than 7,000 tractors of various brands, over 2,100 seeders, more than 5,000 cotton cultivators and other agricultural equipment purchased in Europe and US.
In the past year, contractual obligations were exceeded, more than 1 million 100,000 tons of raw cotton were harvested.
