UzCard, the national processing center of Uzbekistan, is implementing a number of innovative solutions in the e-commerce sector of the country, the Uzbek company told Trend on July 23.

According to the representative of the company, among the novelties for consumers is introduction of technologies such as NFC and QR codes for contactless payments, as well as USSD, SMS and mobile applications for more convenient and interactive banking.

“We are also continuing to improve the software of terminals, information kiosks and ATMs. Specialists of our center are working on improving services for cardholders. We are currently up to implementation of the funds holding project. So, the holders of UzCard cards will be able to use this service very soon,” the company noted.

The representative of the company underlined that UzCard decided not to charge commission from budgetary organizations and certain services rendered to holders' cards in order to stimulate non-cash payments.

It was earlier reported that UzCard has launched the function of canceling the operations on all POS terminals that support the multifunctional software of the International Payment System.

The function will allow canceling erroneously performed operations on the terminal or payments if the customer wants to return the goods purchased.

UzCard noted that any operation that was carried out with the plastic cards of UzCard during the day can be canceled before closing the current shift on the terminal.

In early June 2018, UzCard and UnionPay International (China) signed an agreement on issuing co-badged cards. The agreement signed between the two companies allowed using new cards both on the territory of Uzbekistan, under the UzCard payment system, and outside the republic, under the UnionPay International payment system.
