Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 7

By Leman Zeynalova - Trend:

Since the beginning of the year, the North Kazakhstan region has exported 1.4 million tons of crops to neighboring countries, the Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture Kuandyk Shakubaev said, the Kazakh media outlets reported Sept. 7.

He noted that 50 licensed grain reception centers with a total storage capacity of 3.5 million tons are functioning in the region.

"The producers of agricultural products have their own storage facilities with storage capacity of 3.1 million tons. These storage capacities are enough to ensure the safety of the crop. The workload rate of elevators is 12 percent. The new crop has already been delivered to the elevators. About 10,000 tons of crops including 2,000 tons of grain have been received to date," Shakubaev said.

He noted that the average grain yield is 14.4 quintals.

Shakubaev noted that more than 500,000 hectares of grain areas have been harvested.

"Some 7,600 harvesters, including 3,200 high-performance combines, 5,000 reaping machines, 7,600 trucks have come out to the fields. The harvesting in the region is planned to be completed in late September subject to good weather conditions," he said.
