In the first half of this year, insurance companies of Uzbekistan increased the value of collected insurance premiums by 1.87 times, up to 817.6 billion soums compared to the same period last year, Uzbek media reported Sept. 10 citing the country’s Finance Ministry.
The value of insurance payments of companies amounted to 177.13 billion soums, which is 27.3 percent more than in the same period last year.
For the six months, Uzagrosugurta JSC collected premiums worth 115 billion soums (a 43.8 percent growth), Uzbekinvest JSC collected premiums worth 112.68 billion soums (a 2.73 times growth) and Gross Insurance company collected premiums worth 78.53 billion soums (a 2.44 times growth).
O’zbekinvest Hayot company (34.2 billion soums), New Life Insurance company (32.74 billion soums) and Agros Hayot company (22.75 billion soums) became the leaders in terms of insurance payments.
