Azerbaijani DAD Fruits LLC, which is engaged in production and export of fruits, has launched an enterprise for the production of dried fruits, the specialist on export issues of the company Lala Tahirova told Trend Sept. 17.
"Actually, our company consists of two companies - Ekofruit and D-Fruit LLC. Our new project is called Ekodry, a company that will focus on the production and export of dried fruits. The Ekofruit and D-Fruit companies have fruit gardens in Guba and Sabirabad regions. An enterprise for the Ekodry company has already been commissioned in Guba region," Tahirova said.
The representative of the company noted that the DAD company is planning to enhance the volume of exports.
"Our main export markets are UAE, Oman, Qatar, Hong Kong, UK, Italy. The volume of exports is quite large currently, there is a big increase compared to last year. We plan to expand both the volume and geography of exports," Tahirova said.
According to the data of the State Customs Committee, in January-August 2018 Azerbaijan has exported fruits, nuts, peels of citrus fruits and melons in the amount of $129,621 million, and has imported goods worth $ 69,746 million. Compared to the same period in 2017, the fruit exports has grown by 32.55 percent, the imports – by 47.53 percent.
