Uzbekistan adds new capacities for production of construction materials (Exclusive)

A new concrete plant was commissioned in the city of Karshi in the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan’s O’zqurilishmateriallari JSC told Trend.

The volume of investments in the new Samandar Sanobar Hamkor Lyuks enterprise amounted to 2.3 billion soums. The new plant has a production capacity of 3,000 cubic meters of concrete products worth 10 billion soums.

The joint-stock company noted that a project to produce 200 tons of marble tiles per year has also been implemented in Kashkadarya region. The cost of the project amounted to 200 million soums.

In addition, the Avaza Malik project for production of metal structures with a capacity of 25,000 cubic meters of finished products a year has also been implemented in the region.

According to the representative of the company, commissioning of the new capacities is aimed at meeting the demand in building materials of population of the region. For that purpose, investment projects are being actively implemented in the region.

O’zqurilishmateriallari JSC earlier announced that Uzbekistan is planning to establish production of 510,000 products of ceramic sanitaryware (toilet bowls, wash basins, bidets and others) per year in its Navoi region using direct foreign investments.

The industrial site of the sanitaryware plant with an area of ​​10-15 hectares is planned to be located in the Angren or Jizzakh free industrial zones.

The cost of the technological line for production of ceramic sanitaryware varies at $5-15 million. The expected annual revenue of the new production will be $20.4 million.

The new enterprise will create additional 100 jobs.

O’zqurilishmateriallari also emphasized that the republic has all the main types of raw materials used in the ceramic sanitaryware production - kaolin, quartz sand, feldspar, dolomite and others, with the exception of zirconium.
