Turkmenistan is undergoing industrialization aimed at increasing the production of import-substituting products.

Under this state program, the local "Kokchi" company from Turkmenabat city (Lebap region) has produced about 10,000 car batteries within two years of the opening of a special plant, the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper wrote.

Most of the products are made of unusable acid batteries purchased from the population.

The company has also set up the production of calcium batteries, characterized by improved performance. The cover of the batteries is produced from polypropylene at the local plant. The batteries produced by the "Kokchi" company are twice cheaper than their imported counterparts, and have a warranty period of twelve months.

The official Ashgabat has set a course for diversification of the economy, the industries of textiles and petroleum products have made a progress, the oil- and gas-chemical industries, as well as the industry for production of construction materials are actively developing.
