In contrast to the airline companies of the UK, France, the Netherlands and the UAE, Qatar airways will not suspend its flights to Iran, the Iranian media reported citing the Executive Director of Qatar Airways Airlines Akbar Al-Baker.
Al-Baker stressed that the sanctions do not concern the airline industry and Qatar Airways will continue its current flights to Iran.
As a result of the unilateral withdrawal of the US from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the rise in foreign currency rates in Iran, the airline companies have ceased their activities in Iran.
Qatar Airways carries out flights from Doha to Iranian cities, such as Mashhad, Shiraz and Tehran.
Tourist visiting Iran from Europe and the UAE have been facing problems since their respective airline companies suspended flights.
Some Iranian officials consider the current situation as an opportunity for the domestic market.
