The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan organized visit of business circles of Kazakhstan headed by Chairman of the Foreign Trade Chamber Ayan Yerenov to Tashkent in order to strengthen ties between the two countries, Uzbek media reported.
During the visit, the Uzbek-Kazakh Business Forum was organized for the members of the Kazakh delegation, as well as bilateral meetings in the B2B format with representatives of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan, including those interested in cooperation with companies engaged in production of construction materials, electrical engineering, energy, agriculture, food, pharmaceutical and other spheres.
The business circles of the two countries discussed prospects for further development of the Uzbek-Kazakh trade and economic cooperation, exchanged views on intensification of partnership between enterprises of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Following the event, mutually beneficial bilateral contracts were signed.
The trade turnover between the countries increased by 8.6 percent in 2017 and amounted to $2.062 billion. The leaders of the two countries expressed willingness to increase the volume of trade to $5 billion.
