The Azerbaijan-Arab Countries Cooperation Public Association (AACC) is changing the way it works with Arab investors, the head of the AACC Elshan Rahimov told Trend.

According to Rahimov, from now on, the AACC will use a more precise approach when working with investors from Arab countries. Previously, the association approached the issue of cooperation more comprehensively, trying to establish relations with investors from several Arab countries simultaneously. However, now the AACC will work with each country separately.

A meeting with the ambassador of Kuwait to Azerbaijan is planned to be held in October, and then to organize missions of local entrepreneurs in Kuwait, and Kuwaiti businessmen in Azerbaijan.

Talking about potential areas where investors from Arab countries can invest, the head of the association noted that they are now showing great interest in the tourism sector of Azerbaijan.

Rahimov also stressed that Azerbaijan is one of the most popular destinations for Arab tourists. A certain role in this is played by the proximity, as well as the presence of direct flights. At the same time, he mentioned that direct flights from Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have recently been launched.

"In the summer, flights were opened from three cities in Saudi Arabia. Despite this, the number of Saudis arriving in Azerbaijan has not yet reached its peak," Rahimov said.

Agriculture, real estate, manufacturing, as well as other sectors of the Azerbaijani economy can also attract investors from Arab countries, according to the head of the association.

Rahimov noted that, in the near future, a showroom of Azerbaijani products is expected to be opened in Bahrain, which will operate on a permanent basis. He expressed hope that this will play a significant role in the development of trade relations between the two countries.

"We also hope that the Bahraini investors' previously announced plans to open joint investment funds, as well as turn Azerbaijan into a financial hub of the region, remain in force," Rahimov said.
