Despite the suspension of Renault's operations in Iran, it's possible to continue to produce the company's products," said head of the presiding board of Iranian Auto Parts Manufacturers Association Mohammad Reza Najafi-Manesh according to Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
A few months ago, Renault announced that it could not continue to cooperate with Iran due to problems with its money transaction and transportation, and suspended its activities in Iran.
“Although it is not feasible to continue to order mass production of components from Renault side, according to the same experience during the previous round of sanctions in the early 1990s about cars like the Peugeot 206, the products can continue to be produced,” said Najafi Manesh.
“Now the Iran Car Part Manufacturers, who worked with Renault Pars can sell parts to Iran Khodro and Saipa instead of Renault Pars to continue production,” he said.
"Even the parts that have not been built up so far in Iran can be built, because Iran Car Part Manufacturers have a high technical capability.”
