More safflower seeds purchased from farmers in Iran’s Zanjan province

As many as 102 tons of safflower seeds have been purchased from farmers in Iran’s Zanjan province this Iranian year (started March 21), compared to 20 tons in the same period last year, said Sattar Rahmani, head of the Region 14 Grain and Trading Company, Shata News Agency reported.
He said that the value of the safflower purchased from the farmers of the province is about $61,904.
“So far, about $25,976 have been paid to the farmers,” he noted.
He added that safflower purchased from farmers was sent to Iranian oilseed refineries.
Each kilogram of safflower was purchased at about 67 cents, he said.
