Since last Iranian year (started March 21, 2017), 70 apartments have been connected to the solar power plant electrical grid in Iran’s Hormozgan province, said Ali Allahyari, director general of the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee (IKRC) office in Hormozgan province, IRNA reported.

He said that about 21 billion rials (about $500,000) were spent on the construction of these power plants.

Each solar power plant brings an income of 10 million rials (about $238) per month for families, he added.

“Each kilowatt of electricity generated by solar power plants is purchased from families by the Hormozgan Electrical Power Distribution Network at 80,000 rials (about $1.9),” he noted. “This project results in continuous employment and income generation for the employees of the IKRC. The produced electricity is purchased at the price determined by Iran’s Ministry of Energy.”

Allahyari said that electricity production of each power plant is 5 kilowatts and the life of the panels is 20 years.
