Iran discloses volume of goods exported through East Azerbaijan province

The export of goods from Iran's East Azerbaijan province has increased by 27 percent during eight months of this Iranian year (started March 21), ISNA cited Leila Urangi, customs officer at Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, as saying.

She said 1,452,499 tons of products worth $1.764 billion were exported from the province.

Among the main exported products are rubber, fuel and lubricants, iron and steel cast, citrus fruits, equipment, chocolate, glass, Urangi added.

She said that these products were exported to 96 countries.

The products were mainly exported from the East Azerbaijan province to Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Georgia, Pakistan, China, Bulgaria and Italy, Urangi said.

She said that 205,527 tons of goods worth $601,132,936 were imported to Iran through the East Azerbaijan province.

Among the imported products are equipment and spare parts, tobacco and tobacco products, paper, cardboard, electrical equipment, meat, various food, steel and iron bars, rubber, Urangi said.

She added that these products were imported from 54 countries, mainly from Turkey, Germany, United Arab Emirates, China, Italy, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands and Spain.
