Iran can meet about 70% of tire demand: deputy minister

Iran’s deputy minister of industry, mining and trade announced that the country can meet about 70 percent of its demand for tire, and support national production, especially rubber industry, with an aim of job creation and economic development.

“Eleven manufacturers of tire and tubing in the country are operating at a nominal capacity of 426,000 tons,” Farshad Moghimi said Wednesday at the 14th National Iranian Rubber Exhibition, Trend reports citing official website of the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade.

He said the annual nominal capacity of production of all types of tire is 164,500 tons.

Moghimi also said the national headquarters for facilitating production, which was formed to support domesticization and assistance to the country’s industry, addresses the concerns in banking, customs, taxation, etc. on a weekly basis.

He invited producers to address their concerns to the headquarters.

The 14th National Iranian Rubber Exhibition will be held today and tomorrow at the Olympic Hotel in Tehran.
