By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

Turkmenistan’s State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs has recently signed a loan agreement with Germany’s Commerzbank AG for a total of 121,082,500 euros, Trend reports citing the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.

The loan will support the supply of agricultural machinery of European production (Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands) for the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Turkmenistan.

In recent years, Turkmenistan has purchased the agricultural machinery from John Deere and Claas, which develop new machinery taking into account the climate, the soil of various regions in the country and the cultivated crops.

Turkmenistan plans to produce 1.6 million tons of grain and 1.050 million tons of cotton this year. Traditionally, around 760,000 hectares of land are allocated for grain, with 545,000 hectares allocated for cotton.
