80,000 tons of sugar beet harvested in Iran's Qazvin

In the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), 80,000 tons of sugar beet have been harvested in Iran's Qazvin Province, Turaj Bonyadi, an official with Qazvin Agricultural Jihad Organization, said, Trend reports via IRNA.

In the current year, 2,100 hectares were allocated for sugar beet in Qazvin, he said.

Speaking about Qazvin Sugar Plant, Bonyadi noted that the factory is operated by private sector and has the capacity to process 3,000 tons of sugar beet per day.

In the current year, so far, 245,000 tons of sugar beet have been sold to the factory to process, he added.
