Uzbek president gets familiar with projects in region

On February 19, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the country's Syrdarya region where he familiarized himself with the work of the “Sirdarya Universal Oyna” enterprise, Trend reports with reference to the presidential press service.
The company was opened in June of last year on the territory of the Syrdarya free economic zone and provides pharmaceutical companies across the country with glass containers.
The press service noted that after reaching full capacity, the enterprise will produce 102 million units of glass containers per year and export products worth some $2 million.
In addition, it is planned to put into operation the production of colored glass containers for both the pharmaceutical and food industries in the region, to organize the processing of quartz sand for glass production, the production and processing of fish using a closed reservoir system, and the processing, storage and preservation of agricultural products.
Projects for the production of pharmaceutical, textile, electrical products and building materials through investments, as well as projects for the modernization of Farkhad hydroelectric station, the construction of a small hydroelectric station near the Sardobinsky reservoir, a multidisciplinary logistics center organized by Sirdaryo Golden Fruits LLC were presented to the president.
The head of state noted that all transformations are being carried out for the people and ordered to launch the submitted investment projects as soon as possible.
