After 2018 success, Mexican delegation hopes for more co-op with Azerbaijan

Mexican commercial mission will visit Baku in April to organize presentation of Mexican products, Mexican Ambassador to Azerbaijan Juan Rodrigo Labardini Flores told Trend.

The ambassador said that agriculture is a big potential area in Azerbaijan.

“We will try our best to develop these relations. Because currently, the relations in these area between the countries are not at the desired level. We want to develop these relations as much as possible,” he noted.

Further, Flores stressed that trade relations between Azerbaijan and Mexico have developed in the last three years.

“The average trade turnover between the countries till 2014 was only $1.2 million. In 2017, it reached $20 million,” the ambassador underlined.

According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, trade turnover with Mexico in 2018 amounted to $26.2 million. As compared to the indicator of 2017, the trade turnover between the countries increased by 26.2 percent.

In one of his earlier interviews to Trend, the ambassador spoke about the previous missions that visited Azerbaijan in 2018 and 2017. The ambassador also noted that as as result of the 2018 visit to Azerbaijan, the mission signed 9 contracts.
