By Rashid Shirinov – Trend:

Cultivation areas in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan will be increased by 10 percent or 51,400 hectares, up to 805,100 hectares, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

"Fifty-six percent of the total area, or 451,000 hectares, is allocated for grain crops," Deputy Governor of the region Mavr Abdullin said at a meeting on preparations for the spring sowing campaign.

Due to the early spring, all districts of the region and Aktobe are now actively engaged in preparation for the sowing season.

Mavr Abdullin noted that 99.8 percent of the grain seed stock currently available in the region is pure first and second-grade seeds.

"The preparation of equipment and the purchase of fuel continue. The region was allocated 8,500 tons of cheaper diesel fuel for 2019. This is enough for the full completion of the sowing campaign," the deputy governor said.
