In January-February 2019, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products for 44.1 trillion soums ($5.239.080 billion), which is 7.2 percent more than the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
The main factor behind the growth in total industrial production was an increase in production in the mining industry and quarrying by 4.3 percent, manufacturing by 8.0 percent, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 6.9 percent, water supply, sewage , waste collection and disposal by 9.4 percent.
The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-February 2019 amounted to 8.1 trillion soums, or 18.3 percent of the total industry.
Compared to the same period last year, there is an increase in natural gas production by 4.2 percent and gravel 2 times. At the same time, there was a decrease in coal production by 25.2 percent, oil by 5.3 percent and gas condensate by 2.5 percent and crushed stone by 29.7 percent.
Manufacturing enterprises in January-February 2019 produced goods to 32.0 trillion soums or 72.5 percent of the total industry.
In the total volume of industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair and assembly of machinery and equipment, the production of automobiles, trailers, semi-trailers and other finished products reached 17.1 percent, the share of the metallurgical industry — 13.4 percent; products - 13.3 percent, for the production of food, beverages and tobacco products - 11.2 percent, enterprises for the production of chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 7.9 percent.
Moreover, in the processing industry, compared to the corresponding period last year, the production of trucks increased by 2.6 times, passenger cars - by 51.3 percent, automobile engines - by 64.1 percent, buses - 2.1 times, diesel fuel - by 4.0 percent, wheels of the running gears, their parts and accessories - by 3.6 times, radiators, silencers and exhaust pipes, clutches, steering wheels, steering columns, steering gear cases and their parts - by 31.6 percent.
The volume of products manufactured by the enterprises of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning amounted to 3.7 trillion soums (8.4 percent of the total industry).
In this industry, the production, transmission and distribution of electricity, steam supply systems and air conditioning increased by 7.4 percent.
As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the manufacture of finished products, consumer goods production amounted to 12.8 trillion soums and, compared with the corresponding period of 2018, increased by 20.8 percent, the share in the total industry amounted to 29.0 percent.
In comparison with same period in 2018, there was an increase in the structure of consumer goods in the share of manufacture of non-food products from 67.0 percent to 68.8 percent.
