Investment in Kazakhstan's processing industry declines sharply

Investments in the processing industry of Kazakhstan in January-February 2019 made up only 92.2 billion tenge, which is 58.4 percent less than a year earlier, Trend reports via Energyprom.kz.

At the same time, growth of investments in the processing industry was observed in the Aktobe region (8.1 billion tenge, growth of almost 6 times), Almaty (5.5 billion tenge, growth of 2.1 times), the Karaganda region (29 billion tenge, growth of 2.1 times) and the East Kazakhstan region (6.1 billion tenge, double growth).

It should be noted that the "Aktobe" industrial zone is operating in the Aktobe region, which currently involves 5 enterprises that produced products for 1 billion tenge last year. In 2019, it is planned to put into operation 8 more projects.

In the first two months of this year, the share of investments in the processing industry of Kazakhstan out of the total investments in the industry amounted to 10.4 percent, and to 7.2 percent of the total investments in fixed assets.

In particular, in the Aktobe region investments in the processing sector amounted to 8.8 percent of total investments in the industry of the region, and 3.6 percent of the total investments in fixed capital in the region.
