Imports to Iran’s Kermanshah Province drop

Last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), import of goods through the customs points and border markets of Iran’s western Kermanshah Province dropped by about 10 percent in terms of value and by 8 percent in terms of weight, compared to the figures from the previous year, Khalil Heydari, Director of Kermanshah Customs Administration, told IRNA, Trend reports.

Overall, 20,200 tons of goods worth $36.8 million were imported through the customs of Kermanshah Province last year, according to Heydari.

He added that Kermanshah Customs ranks 1st in the import of goods to the province, with imports of 4,500 tons of goods worth $24.6 million.

Noting that 15,100 tons of products worth $11.8 million were imported through Parvizkhan Customs, he also said that imports decreased by 42 percent in terms of imports, compared to the previous year.

"Iraq holds the 1st place in imports of goods to Kermanshah Province, with 11,100 tons of goods worth $10.2 million, followed by China with 1,300 tons of goods worth $9.3 million, and Germany with 114 tons of goods worth $3.38 million," he said.

Heydari remarked that the main products imported to the province include untapped aluminum alloys, food production equipment, raw materials, substances for accelerating chemical reactions and catalytic goods, cars, steering columns for pickups and tractors, boilers and air conditioners.

Iran's Kermanshah Province has a 371-kilometer border with Iraq. Approximately half of Iran's exports to Iraq are carried out through 6 customs and border markets in Kermanshah Province.
