Investments in Kazakhstan's exploration work to exceed $26M

Additional 4.3 billion tenge worth of investments is to be attracted into mining exploration work for copper deposits in Kazakhstan, Trend reports referring to LS news agency.

“Currently the value of investments into copper deposits exploration work amounts to 6.5 billion tenge. Thus the sum of investments is to exceed 10 billion tenge ($26.04 million)," said the statement of Kazgeology.

“Total cost of each project varies from 500 million to seven billion tenge. The specific cost depends on the current level of area’s development and on the types of work planned,” the statement said.

“The exploration work for copper deposits is taking place in Karaganda, East Kazakhstan and Kostanay regions of the country. The exploration work is being carried out by investors from Australia, United Kingdom and Germany. The work is to continue up to 2024 inclusive,” reads the message.

“Furthermore, over 4.7 billion tenge was invested in the mining exploration work of Karaganda region’s Spasskaya Copper Ore Zone. In turn, the total value of foreign investment into work in 2018 equaled to 5.7 billion tenge,” the report said.
