Volume of coal transfer to exceed 106 million tons in Kazakhstan

During first five months of 2019, the volume of coal loading amounted to 41 million tons, which is two percent less than in the same period of last year, Trend reports referring to press office of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan railways).

About 31 million tons of coal were exported, and 10 million tons were transported for domestic needs of Kazakhstan.

At the end of 2019, it is expected to transport 106.6 million tons of coal, including 72 million tons for Kazakh consumers, and 34.6 million tons for export.

In 2018, more than 74 million tons of the fuel were transported within the country.

Kazakhstan Temir Zholy has a sufficient number of rolling stock to meet the needs of the claimed volumes of transportation, i.e. of more than 59 thousand gondola cars, 55 percent are involved in the transportation of coal.

According to large coal mining enterprises, at the moment there is no shortage of rolling stock for the transportation of their products and all issues with the railway offices in the regions are promptly resolved in working order.
