Uzbekistan's foreign trade increase almost by quarter

The foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan in January-May 2019 amounted to $15.76 billion and increased by $3.02 billion, or 23.7 percent more than in the corresponding period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

In January-May 2019, Uzbekistan conducted trade relations with more than 159 countries of the world.

The foreign trade balance amounted to minus $2.92 billion.

In the reporting period, the number of enterprises engaged in the export of goods increased by 673 units compared to the same period last year, and their total number reached 3,521 units.

Analysis of the dynamics of foreign trade turnover showed an increase by $3.02 billion and amounted to $15.76 billion in the reporting period.

The share of mutual trade with the CIS member states in Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover in January-May 2019 reached 35.3 percent ($ 5.55 billion), the growth rate of foreign trade turnover reached 34.2 percent compared with the same period last year.

The share of other countries in foreign trade turnover in January-May 2019 decreased by 2.8 percent and, compared to the same period last year, amounted to 64.7 percent.
