First solar panel plant has been built in Iran’s Zanjan province, Trend reports citing website of Iran’s Energy Ministry.
A seven megawatt solar panel plant in the Abhar district of Zanjan city has been connected to the Iranian electricity grid, according to the report.
This power plant was created on the territory of 14 hectares in four months with private sector investments amounting to 6.5 million euros.
This plant will annually produce more than 11 gigawatt-hours of energy, and will lead to reduction in the consumption of 3.95 million square meters of fossil fuels.
At the same time, this plant’s operation will prevent consumption of 3 million liters of water per year and emission of 9,590 tons of greenhouse gas.
Forty-two solar panel plants are under construction in Zanjan province.
