Major US company to launch irrigation installations manufacturing in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan together with American company Valmont Industries will implement a number of projects in the sphere of land irrigation, Trend reports with reference to press office of prime minister of Kazakhstan.

As reported, the government of Kazakhstan and American Valmont Industries signed a memorandum on cooperation in agriculture. Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Saparkhan Omarov and CEO of Valmont Industries Stephen Kaniewski signed the memorandum.

“The project is aimed at creation of farm networks on transfer of innovative technologies in sphere of irrigation, rational use of water resources, feedstuff manufacturing, training of farmers and increase of qualified personnel,” the statement said.

According to the report, the demonstration sites which will present modern irrigation installations will be created in Akmola and Turkestan regions.

Valmont Industries, Global Beef (USA) and Kusto Group (Kazakhstan) also signed an agreement which oversees the creation of joint venture on plant construction in Kazakhstan, which is to manufacture modern irrigation installations. The capacity of the plant is to be no less than 1,000 installations a year. The volume of investments is $50 million.
