Retail, wholesale trade up in Kazakhstan

The foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan amounted to $37.261 billion in January-May 2019, which is 3.3 percent more than during the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the Committee of Statistics of Kazakhstan.

Furthermore, some $23.567 billion of the sum account for export (increase of 0.5 percent), whereas 13.694 billion of the sum account for import (increase of 8.3 percent).

In turn, the volume of retail trade in January-June 2019 equaled to 4.944 trillion tenge or 105.4 percent as compared to the same period of last year. The volume of wholesale trade in the reporting period stood at 10.689 trillion tenge or 108 percent as compared to the reporting period of 2018.

The consumer price index in June 2019 compared to December 2018 amounted to 102.6 percent. The food prices have increased by 5.9 percent, non-food by 2.2 percent, paid services prices have decreased by 0.9 percent.

Lastly, prices of industrial products in June 2019 increased by four percent compared to December 2018.
