The Azerbaijani manufacturer of building materials, the Mamedov's company, has significantly reduced production volumes, the company’s owner Javanshir Mammadov told Trend.
He said that the company switched to discontinuous production schedule.
“The company has completely switched to a partial operating mode,” he added. “We had to take this measure because of serious decline in sales of construction materials of our company. The demand for our products has dropped significantly since the beginning of this year, and in six months we produced and sold only minor volumes of building materials. I believe that this is related to the unfavorable situation prevailing in this market segment due to decrease in activity in the construction sector. The level of sales, as a rule, directly depends on the situation in the construction sector."
In his words, this year, as well as in 2018, the construction sector of Azerbaijan was rather inactive in comparison with previous years.
The director of the company noted that the decline in demand for construction products since the beginning of this year exceeded 60-70 percent. He added that the company doesn’t plan to increase production until the situation in the local building materials market stabilizes.
