Georgia exports mineral water worth $65.5M

Georgia exported 106,124,800 liters of mineral water in January-June 2019, which is 25.1 percent more than in the same period of 2018, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

In the second quarter of 2019, exports of mineral water increased by 19.3 percent compared to the figure for the second quarter of 2018 and reached 59,417,900 liters.

Revenues from mineral water exports in the first half of the 2019 increased by 21.1 percent - up to $65.5 million (3.7 percent of the total exports of the country in 2019 versus 3.4 percent in 2018).

According to this indicator, mineral water stood sixth among the main export goods of the country.

Supplies were made to the markets of more than 30 countries, including the CIS, Europe, as well as to the US, China and Japan. Exports to Russia for 6 months of 2019 increased by 29 percent compared to January-June 2018 and reached 46,476,900 liters (43.8 percent of total exports), sales revenue amounted to $30.7 million (an increase of 24.3 percent).

In 2018, Georgia exported 172 million liters of mineral water, which is 16.8 percent more than in 2017.
