Kazakhstan to further develop breeding dairy cattle

A long-term program of milk cattle breeding aimed at import substitution is being implemented in Kazakhstan, said the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Saparkhan Omarov, Trend reports with reference to press office of the ministry.

“Overall, by increasing the number of dairy farm of industrial and family type the volumes of milk manufacturing are to be increased by one million tons, which will, in turn, increase processing capacities,” he said.

He further stated that for more quick results, it is necessary accelerate the construction of industrial dairy farms.

The realization of the program also includes the funding of industrial and family farms.

Some 683 family farms received loans in 2019 to purchase 66,700 heads and imported 42,000 heads of cattle, and 536 farms were funded for purchase of 210,000 ewes.

Furthermore, seven industrial complexes and 22 family farms were modernized in the country during 2018.
