For the first half of this year, the total investment in Uzbekistan amounted to $11.66 billion, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.

Ministry reports that the incoming investments can be divided into two conditional streams: direct and attracted on the basis of public-private partnership.

Foreign investment amounted to $5.6 billion of the total investments.

Foreign investments consist of $ 2.1 billion, which are loans guaranteed by the state, and $ 3.5 billion - foreign direct investment and loans.

Compared to the same period in 2018, the increase in foreign investment was about 4.3 times. That is, there is a big increase in the volume of investments attracted to the economy of Uzbekistan.

By comparing these figures with the domestic national product, investment accounts for 47 percent of the gross national product (GNP). Last year, the figure was about 32 percent.

Foreign direct investment accounts for 14 percent of GNP. The increase in the volume of foreign investments attracted under state guarantees amounted to 3.6 times.

This year, 86 promising investment proposals were developed in Uzbekistan, of which 12 project proposals are already at the initial stage of implementation; 4 are included in the draft Investment Program for 2020-2022; sources of financing of 3 proposals by international financial institutions are being worked out.

Preparation of documentation for the remaining 62 investment proposals will be carried out by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
