Iran allocates $1.37B for medicines' imports

Some $1.37 billion were allocated to Iranian companies for imports of medicines last Iranian year (March 21, 2018 - March 21, 2019), Vice Chairman of the Board at Iranian Pharmaceutical Industries Syndicate Amir Hossein Moini Zandi stated at a press conference, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

According to him, $918 million was paid to provide raw materials and additives for medicines.

Moini Zandi stated that Iran's pharmaceutical companies have paid $89 million for packaging of medicinal products.

"About 70 percent of the medicines used in Iran are produced domestically and 30 percent are imported," he said.

He added that the import of medicines will not decrease this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019).
