Some 1.03 million tons of cargo were transported by sea in January-August 2019, which is 1.5 times more than in the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the report of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
The total amount of cargo transported by sea amounted to $624 million, which is almost 31 percent more than last year.
The volume of export shipping amounted to almost 230,000 tons, which is 1.3 times more than last year. The total indicator of exported goods amounted to $105 million (an increase of 29.9 percent).
The volume of import cargo transportation by sea for the reporting period amounted to almost 799,000 tons, which is 1.6 times more than in the same period of last year. The total indicator of the imported goods amounted to $519 million (an increase of 31.2 percent).
In general, during the reporting period, Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover amounted to $22.9 billion, in particular, export - $13.5 billion, import - almost $9.4 billion.
