Azerbaijani company eyes to increase supplies of wine to China

Sharg Ulduzu OJSC, Azerbaijan’s wine-making plant located in Shamkir district, plans next deliveries of wine to the Chinese market by the end of the year, the company representative Sanan Alirzayev told Trend.

He said that the company intends to increase exports to the Chinese market.

“These are regular deliveries to China, they are planned in the volume of 10,000 bottles,” he noted. “In the future we plan to increase the volume of exports to this market to 18,000 bottles of alcoholic beverages. Export of fruit vodka is also planned.”

He said that the company annually produces 50,000 deciliters of wine, the biggest part of which is exported.

The company’s products have an international certificate ISO:22000, a certificate of conformity issued by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents, and a hygiene certificate issued by the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Healthcare.

The company uses the latest technology and modern German and Italian equipment installed at the plant.

The company owns vineyards of 110 hectares in Shamkir district, where seedlings brought from France, Iran and Georgia are planted alongside local grape varieties. Such varieties as Chardonnay, Bayan Shirey, Merlot and Shiraz are grown in the vineyards.
