Kazakhstan, Russia to increase flights between countries' capitals

Kazakhstan has reached an agreement with the Ministry of Transport of Russia on increase of the number of Nur-Sultan – Moscow flights from 12 to 21 times a week, Deputy Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan Aybek Alzhanov said, Trend reports with reference to the press office of prime minister of Kazakhstan.

According to Alzhanov, a steady growth is observed in the country in the area of development of international transport. Thus, flights in 99 directions were oeprated in 2019 compared to flights to 73 directions in 2013.

The Civil Aviation Committee is constantly holding negotiations with other countries for establishment of legal framework and full-fledged cooperation.

Since the beginning of 2019, Kazakh and foreign air companies launched seven international flights on the following routes: Nur-Sultan – Prague, Nur-Sultan – Ulaanbaatar, Almaty – Baku, Zhukovsky – Karaganda, Zhukovsky – Kokshetau, Zhukovsky – Petropavl, and Nur-Sultan – Tokyo.

Furthermore, 54 internal flights are being operated by eight air companies in Kazakhstan.
