The first passenger-cargo ship between Iran’s Bushehr province and the UAE’s Doha city is expected to be launched until Nov. 21, Director General of the Iranian Bushehr Ports and Maritime Affairs office Siavash Ajmandzadeh said, Trend reports via the website of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization.
Ajmandzadeh said that the ship will be launched when the repair is finished at the Doha passenger terminal and the subsidized fuel is allocated for this route.
Ajmandzadeh added that the ship will operate twice a week between Bushehr and Doha and will carry passengers and cargo.
“The ship will carry a maximum of 1,300 passengers, 700 cars, or 300 cars and about 50 trucks,” Ajmandzadeh said.
Ajmandzadeh noted that there are plans to export frozen products by this ship.
As for the ticket price, Ajmandzadeh said that it depends on the number of weekly trips and the volume of subsidized fuel, adding that the exact price hasn’t yet been determined.
