Since the beginning of 2019, persimmon production volumes in Azerbaijan amounted to 150,000 tons, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Persimmon Producers and Exporters Association Gadir Yusifov told Trend.
Yusifov said that by the end of 2019, there are plans to bring production volumes to 200,000 tons.
“We plan to increase the production of persimmons next year, as well as the production of dried and semi-dried persimmons by opening new processing plants for these products,” the chairman noted. “Such facilities operate in Goychay, Balakan and Agjabadi districts.”
Yusifov added that in 2018, persimmon production in Azerbaijan amounted to approximately 200,000 tons, which corresponded to the figures in 2017.
The Persimmon Producers and Exporters Association was established in August 2017 on the initiative of entrepreneurs and with the support of Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry.
