IMF forecast: Kazakhstan's GDP growth to slow down

Real GDP of Kazakhstan will be 3.8 percent in 2019, Trend reports with reference to the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) October World Economic Outlook (WEO).

According to the report, real GDP of Kazakhstan in 2018 was 4.1 percent and it is forecast that it will decrease to 3.9 percent in 2020.

Furthermore, according to the projections of IMF, Kazakhstan’s consumer prices on average will grow by 5.3 percent in 2019 and 5.2 percent in 2020. IMF also notes that consumer price growth in Kazakhstan was 6 percent in 2018.

Current account balance in Kazakhstan is forecast to be 1.2 percent of the country’s GDP in 2019 and 1.5 percent of GDP in 2020.
