Russia’s Tatspirtprom company to open vodka factory in Azerbaijan

Russia’s Tatspirtprom state company will commission a factory in Azerbaijan together with the local distributor of Carcioglu Group, where it will begin to bottle its vodka Russkaya Valuta (Russian Currency) and Khanskaya, Trend reports on Oct. 18.

The company wants to cover 20 percent of the local vodka market with a volume of 5.5 million decalitres per year within 2-3 years.

This is the first foreign holding site to be managed by Rus-Azeri Spirits LLC, in which the partners have 50 percent.

The company initially plans to produce over 190,000 decalitres (dal) per year, of which 18,000 dal must be accounted for Tatspirtprom brands including Russkaya Valuta, Khanskaya and Tundra.

The production volumes at Rus-Azeri Spirits are planned to be brought to 400,000 decalitres per year in the future.

The first products shall be produced in the coming days, the source said.

The new factory is located 180 kilometers from Baku.

Tatspirtprom is one of the biggest alcohol producers in Russia, which manages a distillery, a winery and a brewery in Tatarstan.
