Kazakhstan recognized as bird flu free country

World Organization for Animal Health has recognized Kazakhstan as a bird flu free country, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture.
“This is a great accomplishment of Kazakhstan’s veterinary service, including the ministry, Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee, Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute,” the report said.
As noted by the ministry, country’s poultry industry is one of the most important components of agricultural complex of Kazakhstan, main areas of which are production of eggs and meat.
“This status will allow to develop export potential of country’s agricultural complex, as well as will positively affect economic development and image of Kazakhstan,” the report said.
The main importers of Kazakh meat are Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Russia, Iran, China, Tajikistan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Belgium, Mongolia, Poland and Latvia.
