A copper concentrate and cathode production plant will be built on a 16-hectare-territory in Meshgin Shahr county of Iran’s north-western Ardabil province, governor of Ardabil province Akbar Behnamju said.
“More than 1 trillion rials (about $23.8 million) will be invested in this project,” Behnamju added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.
“The construction of the plant will be launched through the investments worth 500 billion rials (approximately $11.9 million) made by MEMRADCO, a subsidiary of Middle East Mines and Minerals Holding Company,” the governor said.
"After the first phase of the plant is put into operation, 3,500 tons of copper concentrate will be produced per year and about 100 people will be employed," the governor said.
The governor said that the plant will be put into operation within the next year.
Behnamju said that MEMRADCO will build a plant to produce 800 tons of copper cathodes a year and employ 150 people.
