Azerbaijani factory decides on textile exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 14

The biggest textile producer in Azerbaijan, the Baku Textile Factory, plans to begin exporting textile products to neighboring countries, Director of the factory Sakina Babayeva told Trend on Nov. 14.

This includes export of certain types of corporate clothing, Babayeva said.

“First, export deliveries to Russia are planned,” the director noted. “Roughly, the export is planned in the first three months of next year. Corporate clothing intended for bank employees and employees of various industries will be exported. The annual production of corporate clothing is 35,000-38,000 pieces. Next year, we intend to bring this figure to 40,000-45,000 units.”

Babayeva added that in the future, the company plans to launch exports to other CIS countries.

Presently, 300 people work at the Baku Textile Factory and the enterprise uses seven production lines.

The factory has been operating since 1939. It was the first factory in the South Caucasus in the field of textile industry.

Today, the factory operates according to the principles of the European standards. The factory has been provided with the latest German and Japanese equipment and technologies.

The factory produces daily clothes, evening dresses, corporate, children's, sports and medical clothes, as well as overalls, school uniforms and all kinds of workwear.
