In the eighth month (from Oct. 23 to Nov. 21, 2019) of the current Iranian year, Iran's Sefid Dasht Steel Company, located in the country's Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, produced 70,300 tons of direct reduced iron (DRI), which is also called sponge iron, an official with company Akbar Isghandari said, Trend reports referring to the company's information portal.
Meanwhile, the quality of the product exceeded 93 percent, Isghandari said.
As for the daily output, it increased by 44 percent in the seventh month of the current year (from Sept. 23 to Oct. 22, 2019), compared to the sixth month (from Aug. 23 to Sept. 22, 2019), the company official said.
Thus, the average daily output reached 2,490 tons, he added.
Akbar Isghandari noted that another new project of the company, which is currently completed by 79 percent, will be launched next year (begins March 21, 2020) with the support of shareholders.
The shares of Sefid Dasht Steel Company are owned by Mobarakeh Steel Company (65 percent) and Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, known as IMIDRO (35 percent).
