Four passenger trains purchased from "Stadler Rail Group", a Swiss company, will operate on the routes Baku-Ganja, Baku-Sumgayit and Baku-Sabunchu, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan Railways.
A passenger train of 10 wagons was delivered to Azerbaijan by a Swiss company upon an order of Azerbaijan Railways.
The Swiss company Stadler and Azerbaijan Railways signed a contract worth 115 million euros for the delivery of 10 Stadler FLIRT (Fast Light Innovative Regional Train) passenger trains.
Stadler FLIRT is a family of passenger electric and diesel trains produced by the Stadler Rail AG company.
The first train was designed and delivered by the company to Swiss railways in 2004. In subsequent years, trains were delivered to operators in Algeria, Belarus, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, Finland, the Czech Republic and Estonia.
